2. After all of the malicious files and programs on your computer have been rounded up, the next step is to remove any start-up item that is not wanted. When you start up your computer, you won’t need every program that is running, to be running in the background. If you have a lot of programs running in the background at start-up, then it will adversely affect the speed of your PC. In order for you to remove items from your start-up list that are not necessary, all you have to do is click on Start >> Run and type “msconfig” followed by the Enter button. When the applet starts up, you should click on the tab labelled “start-up”, and then proceed to uncheck the items that you do not need to start during boot up. After you’ve completed that procedure and hit the Apply and then OK button, you should then be asked to restart your system.
3. Defraging your registry and hard drive is another thing that you will need to do, because items can get mixed up in the registry whenever an error occurs. Fixing the registry of your computer will have a significant impact on the performance of your computer. Once you have a program like this, up and running on your system, all you’ll need to do is run a full system scan to optimise your registry.
In order for you to defrag your computer click on Start >> Run and type “dfrg.msc” and then hit the Enter button. Once the applet loads up, select the local disk (c:) and then click on the defrag button to begin the process. Repeat this process with all the other drives on your computer to improve the overall performance of your machine.
